Hi,
Given this blog is very new I figured I should introduced you to what my reading and watching tastes are, So in this post I'm going to tell you my top three favourite books and films
3) Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
This will not be the last you hear of this book. I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this book. I first read it when I was in year 8 because it had a pretty cover in the library and adored it from start to finish. Unfortunately I've never managed to convince any of my friends to read it but that doesn't stop me from talking about it constantly. I must have read it at least 5 times.
3) Bandslam
This is a film that came out when I was about 6 and it's stayed a firm favourite ever since. Vanessa Hudgens plays one of the leads and she is one of the loves of my life. I adore her and think she is brilliant in everything I've seen her in, except maybe the 10 torturous minutes of Spring Breakers that I once watched. This film has so much heart and makes me laugh and cry every time. A great go to when you are feeling down.
2) Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
I went to see a play version of 'Of Mice and Men' when I was in year 7 and cried so loud at the ending that while I loved it, I doubt anyone else in the theatre did for my wails. I obviously went home and found the book to once again cry hysterically and then I studied it in class the next year and cried once again. This book has the most incredible characters that you attach so strongly to even though the book is only a little over 100 pages.
2) The Grand Budapest Hotel
This is the only Wes Anderson movie I've ever seen, which is disgraceful. I definitely need to watch his whole backlog. One of my favourite things about this film is that every time I watch it I feel like the film focuses on a different theme and it always feels relevant to my life at the time even though the plot has no similarities to my life.
1) Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo
I remember reading the last chapter of this book on my car ride to school and I had to read it out loud to my dad because it was just to painful to read in my head. This was the first book to ever really move me and because of that it will always be my favourite even if I read books of higher quality in the future.
1) Alice in Wonderland (2010)
This is a controversial one but we went to see it for my birthday and it was one of the first times in my life that I felt a character really represented me. Every time I re-watch this movie, which is often, I get that feeling all over again. When I went to see the sequel I cried all the way though because of how much it meant to me.
